Dear Brackett Families,
Welcome back from spring break. We are in the final home stretch for School Year 2025-26. WOW! As a reminder, the last day of school for kindergarten is June 18 (2:30 dismissal) and the last day for Grades 1-5 is June 25 (11:30 dismissal).
It is MCAS time again! Our Fifth Graders began the Science MCAS today. Math MCAS begins for grades 3, 4, and 5 next week. We are so proud of our students and how they are approaching these exams. Families, if you have questions, please reach out to your classroom teacher. (Exact dates are at the bottom of this email.)
Dr. Homan sent out an email regarding the Family Panorama survey. This is a great way for our leadership team to make adjustments and define priorities for the next school year. One final note … this week a team of faculty and family members began interviewing applicants for the assistant principal position. We were excited to see many extremely qualified candidates. Next steps will include a chance for families to hear from finalists. Stay tuned for more information.

SAVE THE DATES: Field Day & June Fair
Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 29 with a rain date of Friday, June 5.
Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd Grade Field Day is from 9:00-11:00am. Fifth graders will help with the stations. Everyone will have lunch between 11:00-11:45am. 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Field Day is from 11:50-1:50pm.
June Fair is Sunday, June 7 from 11am-2pm and will feature the yearly Art Show in addition to all of the exciting booths and activities. You don’t want to miss it!
We rely on many family volunteers to make these events a success. Please mark your calendars now and look for the sign up soon!
APS Annual Textile Recycling Competition
April 30-May 30, 2026
Announcing our 10th annual APS textile recycling competition!
Support our district sustainability initiatives and reduce waste by bringing your old, worn, torn textiles (clothing, shoes, towels, bedding, stuffed animals) to your school's collection bin from April 30-May 30. All donations must be bagged and go into the textile recycling bins located outside your school.
The weight of donated textiles at each school will be tracked by Bay State Textiles to determine the winning schools. New this year: we are running two separate competitions! One competition will be between the elementary schools and one between Gibbs and Ottoson.
