Message from Mr. Vanderlaine:Dear Brackett Families, I’ve always known March to be the month in the school year where all the magic happens. Framing the school year using the district’s values of belonging, growth, and joy, I think the fall is belonging, where we build connections to sustain us through this time of year where immense growth occurs. And June, that’s joy. For me this joy is celebrating the moment when all three of these core values meet as the Brackett community is a place where we can joyfully learn, grow, and feel belonging together. As a school we know that growth occurs at all levels and usually involves some form of change and transformation. This is true for me as well. So it’s with excitement that I share that I have accepted the district’s offer to be the next principal of Peirce Elementary School at the conclusion of this year. This decision comes with a bittersweet fondness as Brackett is a place that I have grown to love and to celebrate. It is a special place where I have felt momentous joy, experienced growth, and feel an embrace of belonging. It's something that I treasure, and something that I hope to share out into the world. Working alongside Dr. Vice and this incredible faculty to serve as your Assistant Principal has been an incredible opportunity, and one, for which, I am forever grateful. It has been a privilege to have gotten to know you and your families and an honor to have been a part of your children's experience at Brackett. As the school year continues, I remain fully committed to Brackett and supporting a sustainable, smooth transition and celebrating the growth, joy, and belonging that your children, families, and the Brackett community has given to me. I am forever proud to have been a Brackett Cricket. With Gratitude, Michael

From Social WorkCheck out these two workshops...
Beyond the Likes is an opportunity for 14-19 year olds to join a conversation about creating safe digital spaces. It is a zoom (which is funny, though it makes sense) but, regardless, kids would register here.
Guiding Good Choices is a workshop for parents/caregivers of students ~9-14 that teaches skills for parents for how to build communication and trust with young people to prevent substance use and other risky behaviors. Register here. |
