Dear Brackett Families,
Thank you to all the volunteers who made Chemistry week a success. Students have been so excited to share about the afterschool activities! I’ve included several new calendar updates at the end of this email. Please mark your calendars and make sure that you are planning for the early release and days off in November.
With many in town celebrating Halloween next week, I wanted to remind you that students should not wear their costumes to school on Halloween (next Friday 10/31). In addition, candy collected or treats for other students should be left at home. I know that this may be disappointing for some children, but check out the full list of Student Council sponsored Spirit Days below. We will dress up for our community on other days during the year!
Best, Dr. Vice |

4th and 5th Grade Math NightOctober 27, 6:00-7:30 p.m., Brackett Cafeteria
Fourth and Fifth graders and their parents/caregivers are invited to join us for a playful evening of hands-on mathematical exploration on next Monday, October 27, 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Brackett Cafeteria.
Enjoy dozens of diverse math- and logic-based puzzles, games, and magic tricks, and investigate concepts of symmetry, congruence, and reflections. Activities span a wide range of topics and difficulty levels, and are designed to be appropriate for all fourth/fifth graders, regardless of math background, and regardless of whether they already love math or haven’t yet discovered how much there is to love.

Host a Table at Culture & Creativity NightWe identify ourselves in so many ways – by language of origin, abilities, family structure, ethnicity, etc. If you are interested in sharing any part of your cultural identity by hosting a “museum table at Brackett’s Culture and Creativity Night on Friday, November 14,” sign up here!
Students, parents and other family members or guardians are invited to make a poster, share items/food, demonstrate activities, or anything else!
Keep in mind that there are many sources of culture. You may choose to share the culture of your family’s country of origin, but you could also teach us about another group, language or shared history that is meaningful to you. |
