Family Newsletter Week of 6/5/2025

Dear Brackett Families,

We are rolling into the final days of school and the temperatures are rising. Please send your children with a water bottle labeled with their name everyday.

Monday was a glorious celebration as the entire school met together to wish happy retirement to our kitchen manager, Barbara Langlais. Ms. Barbara, as the students know her, is retiring after being at Brackett for 30+ years. We will miss her so much! Afterwards we paraded around the playground with beautifully colored shakers, announcing the opening for all!

On Friday of next week (6/13), we are having an adult focused playground opening ceremony at 1pm to thank all of those grown-ups involved. Families are welcome, but only upper grade students will be in attendance. Fourth graders will be sharing the poetry that they wrote about the playground.

Here is the June PTO Newsletter and June Health Office Happenings.

See you later today (6:00-7:30 p.m.) for the ScooperBowl and Art Show! The first floor of the building will be open for touring. Ice cream should stay outside.:)

See you Sunday for June Fair (11am-2pm) rain or shine. If it rains, we will move most of the activities indoors, but there are a few we won't be able to offer.

Best,
Dr. Vice

MA Safe Routes to School Survey

Arlington Public Schools is committed to supporting safe and efficient travel for all students. As part of this effort, we are partnering with Massachusetts Safe Routes to School to better understand how our 6,113 students travel to and from school each day.

We kindly ask you to complete a brief, anonymous Family Travel Survey, which will take approximately two minutes. Your feedback will help us improve transportation safety and planning across the district.

Survey Dates: June 4–23
Survey Link: MA Safe Routes to School Family Travel Survey
The survey is available in multiple languages—please select your preferred language and school.

If at least 50% of your school’s families participate, your school will receive a safety incentive package provided by the state.
