ar Brackett Families,
Thank you for your understanding as we complete the playground project. The squishy surface has been fully installed. YAY! The seal coating has started and will be completed over the next week, weather permitting. This last step creates the beautiful designs that mark the specific areas, e.g. the basketball court and four-square. I hope to have a date for the grand opening ceremony by next newsletter. Arlington Parks & Rec Dept will be completing work on the main structures of the Robbins Farm Park playground next Monday through Wednesday. We will stay clear and look forward to having both playgrounds finished and open for full use!
Thank you to all of you for your thoughtfulness during Teacher Appreciation Week. We have such an amazing team of educators here at Brackett. Another way to honor our teachers is through the AEF Stars Program (aefma.org/stars). Arlington Education Foundation (AEF) provides grants to our educators for innovating special projects. Please consider donating to AEF by gifting a Star Certificate to recognize a teacher/staff member that shines bright!
Tomorrow is the last day to submit Hopes, Wonderings, or Insights for Class Placement for School Year 2025-2026. While this is optional, we welcome information that you have about outside of school that may add to placement discussions.
Also … for those of a competitive spirit, we are currently in 2nd place in the APS textile recycling competition. Great job clearing out your closets!
Best,
Dr. Vice

Activities include face painting, balloon animals, magic shows, a bouncy house, arts and crafts, a STEM game, a Green Team-sponsored plant sale, and more. Punjab will sell delicious lunch options, and we also will have Del's frozen lemonade, Rancatore's ice cream, Fiesta Bites pizza, popcorn, and cotton candy. Brackett spirit wear will be available for sale. Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased the week before the event or on the day of.
In order to offer all of the planned events, we need families to sign up to volunteer for a 90-minute shift! Please consider helping out to set up beforehand, manage booths during the Fair, or clean up afterwards. We also need donations of tables and canopy tents. Here is the link to the sign-up genius.
