Family Newsletter Week 11/15/2024

Dear Brackett Families,

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night at Culture and Creativity Night from 6:30-8pm! This is a fabulous opportunity to celebrate and learn more about members of our community. In addition, you can check out our community art project!

Last week I mentioned in my newsletter that our specialists were talking about what courage, honesty, inclusion, and responsibility look like in their spaces as part of the development of our school-wide expectations. For example, our PE students have talked to each other about when they might be courageous in PE as they walk over to the field. Our students in the library read a book about courage and wrote their own definitions on post-its. Here are more details about CHIRP.

Best,
Dr. Vice

Fall Food Drive

Did you know that Brackett always has snacks on hand for students? Has your student ever grabbed pretzels or an applesauce cup from the front office? If so, you have been supported by Arlington EATS. Arlington EATS works to engage the community in eliminating food insecurity and hunger in Arlington.

Brackett and EATS have a long time partnership, and on November 18 we are kicking off our fall food drive. We encourage you and your child to learn more about EATS by checking out their website: https://www.arlingtoneats.org/. If you are in a position to do so, please consider donating items to this year’s drive. Grade specific requests are on the other side of this flier.

Thank you for your support,

The Brackett Food Drive Committee

P.S. Fifth graders, there will be an opportunity to deliver donations on December 3 after school and sort items at EATS on December 11 from 4 to 5pm. Stay tuned for more information about how to sign up for these service opportunities!
