Family Newsletter Week of 9/26/2025

Dear Brackett Families,

Looking forward to seeing you TONIGHT at Back to School Night!

Here is the schedule:

  • 6:00-6:45pm K–2 Class Presentations
  • 6:45-7:15pm Meet & Greet/Involvement Fair
  • 7:15-8:00pm 3–5 Class Presentations

This is a time to talk with teachers about the curriculum and classroom expectations. If you have questions about your individual child, please reach out to the teacher to set up another time to talk.

Playground update: The play equipment is being installed and surfacing comes next. Much of the next steps are weather dependent, so think warm, dry nights and sunny days.

Don’t forget to sign up for the vaccine clinic next Monday.

See you soon,

Dr. Vice

Math Mornings – Grades 3-5

On behalf of the Brackett STEM Committee, teams of parents will again be running MATH MORNINGS Friday mornings at 7:20am.

Math Morning is an extracurricular, supplemental math program intended to inspire and energize students by presenting interesting math topics. Each session typically includes a brief slide presentation on the topic, followed by worksheets with fun exercises. This is not part of the school math curriculum, but is meant as a fun activity to increase interest and excitement in math! Grown-ups are invited and encouraged to stay and assist their child.

Math mornings begin for Grades 4 & 5 tomorrow, September 27.

  • 4th grade - Room 312
  • 5th grade - Room 201
  • 3rd grade will begin next week (Oct 4) in the Library

For more information, or if you'd like to volunteer, please visit www.brackettpto.org/stem.

Fifth Grade Volunteers Needed

The 5th Grade Committee is in need of additional 5th Grade parents/guardians! Those interested should email [email protected] by Friday September 27.  We will then send out a survey for the best Zoom Meeting day/time and start planning!

Upcoming Panorama Survey

Our district values your feedback! We are surveying Arlington Public Schools families to understand your perception of our school and district effectiveness. We need your feedback to ensure we continue to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and careers. To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2024 Fall Family Survey, Student Survey, Student SEL & Well-Being Survey, and Teacher Survey.

Opt-Out and Additional Information

The survey opt-out for students will be available for families on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you do not have an account or need assistance logging in, please contact your child’s school. The main page of the Parent Portal has a list of staff members at each building to contact.

Once logged onto the portal, please follow the instructions to complete the opt-out form.

Please notify us by Friday, October 11th, if you would like your child to opt out of taking either student survey.

Please find a copy of the Student Surveys for grades 3-5 and 6-12 and the SEL & Well-Being surveys for grades 3-5 and 6-12. The Student Survey will take students about 8-20 minutes, and the SEL & Well-Being surveys will take approximately an additional 8-12 minutes.

We appreciate your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact Matt Coleman at [email protected].
