Family Newsletter week of May 30, 2024

Dear Brackett Families,

This morning we welcomed incoming Kindergarten families into Brackett. They are excited to be a part of this wonderful community. It was during this event that I visited Brackett for the first time as incoming principal one year ago. I have learned so much and gotten to know so many of you in the past 12 months. Thank you again for welcoming me!

As we wrap up over the next 2.5 weeks, we are already planning for the upcoming school year.  Teachers are already thinking about schedules, professional learning is focused on the new EL curriculum, class placements are being discussed, school-wide community expectations are being synthesized, and soon we will set dates for next year’s community events. All of this is happening while also celebrating the year and assessing how much students have learned.

I know that many of you have seen communication about the delay regarding the Robbins Farm Park playground construction. I am in communication with the town and the superintendent about this development, and as always, thinking about what is best for our students. A full timeline of our playground project is being discussed, and I will share updates as they are decided.

Best,
Dr. Vice

2023 School Report Card

Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas.

Ice Cream Scooper-Bowl

The tradition continues and will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6th, 6:00-7:15 p.m.

Your own Brackett teachers and staff will be serving RANC’S Ice Cream, (Rancatore’s). D.J. Dee is returning for more fun dancing games and prizes.

Don’t miss this fun event sponsored by your PTO. Mango Sorbet from RANC’s will be available for a GF AND DF option.
