Dear Brackett Families,
Thank you to those of you who joined our playground meeting on Monday. Here are the slides from the presentation.
As a reminder, on Friday, March 29, the Brackett School does have school from 8:00am-1:00pm to make up for the day we missed school because of the water main break. Both BASP and Spanish Immersion after school programs are canceled on this day. This will be an excused absence because of the shift in calendar.

From the Nurse
APS is aware of the fact that the CDC has dropped the five day isolation requirement for a positive COVID-19 test. At this time, MA guidance has not changed and will remain in effect. Unless otherwise instructed, please continue to follow the APS COVID-19 protocol.
Free COVID-19 test kits are readily available at each school, until supplies last. Please contact your student’s school nurse to request testing kits.
If and when COVID-19 guidance in Massachusetts changes, we will inform the APS community. As usual, please contact your student’s school nurse for any questions or concerns.
Fifth Grade Fundraiser
On Thursday, March 14, there will be a Fundraiser at Blue Ribbon BBQ in Arlington to Support 5th Grade Graduation.
Mention Brackett PTO/5th Grade when you make your take out or dining in order, and 20% of the proceeds will go to support 5th grade activities.
Electronic Devices
We have seen an increase in cell phones and Smart watches at school lately. The District policy in the Elementary Handbook prohibits use of these devices within the school and classroom.
I understand that families use these devices to communicate with children after school hours. Please do not ask your child to communicate with you on these devices during the day. In order for our school to be a safe place for students, we need for family communication to go through the nurse, teacher, or front office.
If we see a device being used during the school day, we will ask the student to put it away in their backpack. This includes Smart watches. In cases where this continues to be an issue, we will reach out to families about making a separate plan.
Volunteers Needed for Brackett STEM Night!!
The Brackett STEM Committee has been putting together all of the pieces for our annual STEM Night event on March 15. There are still slots available for those wanting to participate. Please have a look at the following SignUp Genius link and see where you can help out!
