Family Newsletter Week of 2/8/2024

Dear Brackett Families,

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Glow Dance sponsored by the Brackett PTO tomorrow evening from 6:30-8:30pm. Entry to the dance is free. Refreshments and fun glow accessories will be available for purchase.

Two important things to note:

  1. The dance is NOT a drop off event. All students must be supervised by an adult (no more than 2-3 kids per adult).

  2. While we are excited about being together, it is still cold and flu season. To support wellness for all families, we will have air filtration in the gym. However, if you are not feeling well, please stay home. Similarly, if your child does not attend school on Friday because of illness, they should stay home from the dance. This will help everyone be at school next week!

The information session about the new SNAP portal is tonight via Zoom from 4:00-6:00 PM. Here is the Zoom link for that meeting. All Brackett families are welcome to attend.

Spirit Days have been updated to allow for more time in between these fun events! Tomorrow is TEAM DAY… wear your favorite TEAM apparel or Brackett gear as part of Team Brackett!

One last thing... Kindergarten Online Registration opened today at 11AM. Please see the email sent this morning from the APS Superintendent for more details.

Best,
Dr. Vice

Attendance Letters

Regular and punctual school attendance is essential for success in school. We want to support families in this and as such will be emailing letters next week to families of children who have 10 or more absences. This count includes both excused and unexcused absences. For families of these students with six or more unexcused absences, we will reach out to set up a time to meet to develop a plan to support student attendance.

Lost & Found

Please check the lost and found photos for any belongings. Photos are updated regularly and can be seen here.

From the Snack Ambassadors

Thank you for your generous donations to the “Cookies and Crafts” themed basket for Beats for EATS, Arlington EATS’ annual fundraiser. Arlington EATS is a vital organization in supporting the Arlington community, and it also supports Brackett Elementary’s snack program.

The Brackett School Directory is here!

Thank you for your patience and for helping make this directory happen! Using a spreadsheet instead of Membership Toolkit allowed the PTO to redirect over $1000 back into student centered enrichment! Our hopes were to use PowerSchool to populate a school directory, but unfortunately that posed many challenges and wasn't feasible. We hope you all find the new directory useful and it helps bring our community together!

If you'd still like to be included in the directory, please fill out this form.

Calendar Reminders

Please add the Brackett Google Calendar to your personal calendar system. In addition, we have put together a one page of major events. These are subject to change.
