Family Newsletter Week of 1/11/2024

Dear Brackett Families,

It has been so wonderful to see so many of you here for conferences this week. This time for conversation is so central to children seeing us as their team of supportive adults. I was able to check in with several of you about how these went. If you have any thoughts about the format or ideas for the future, please let me know!

Many classrooms are heading out on field trips in the next month. Please make sure to pay attention to class communication about these events. In related news, the annual appeal letter for the PTO went home today in backpacks. Please email the PTO with any questions. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out as well!

Thank you to those of you who have started following Brackett on Instagram. More pictures to come! Remember there is no school on Monday in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.

Best,
Dr. Vice

All School Dance

Please mark your calendars for Brackett School’s first ALL SCHOOL Family Dance, featuring Brackett school's alum DJ DEE!!!

Friday February 9, from 6:30 - 8:30 in the gym and cafeteria

We hope to see the entire school (students and families!) on the dance floor.  The intention of this event is for Brackett community building and family fun! Staff is also invited so you may see some guest appearances from your favorite Brackett teacher or staff member!

Please note, this is NOT a drop off event.  All students must be supervised by an adult (no more than 2-3 kids per adult).

Please also note, this is a Brackett community event.  Attendance is limited to Brackett students, staff, and families only.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED…

Parents/Caregivers - we need your help at the event!  We are looking for people to volunteer the night of, as well as some donations to help bring this event to life.   There are shifts for each volunteer post, so everyone that volunteers will have a chance to dance as well!

Please check out this signup genius:

We are also looking for some 5th graders to help with the event so if your 5th grade kiddo is interested in helping, please also check out the signup genius!

We can't wait to see everyone glowing up and getting down at the dance!

This event is FREE and is sponsored by your Brackett PTO.

Arlington EATS Basket

Arlington EATS is a vital organization in supporting the Arlington community, and it also supports Brackett Elementary’s snack program. Beats for EATS, Arlington EATS’ annual fundraiser, is on March 16! Brackett is putting together a “Cookies and Crafts” themed basket for their auction, and we would love your help! Please consider:

  • Purchasing an item off of the Amazon wish list for the basket
  • Donating funds toward the basket. Please send Venmo donations to @David-Goldstein-28. (Last four digits of his phone are 8435).

All donations must be received by February 9
